Zooplankton

Larva of a bristle worm (polychaet). At first glance it looks similar to a fly.
Many water animals exhibit a planktonic live style only during their larval-stage. Thus the distribution of species is promoted by the moving water. Adult organisms can be mainly found at the bottom of the water (benthos) living either sessile (stuck) or mobile within a restricted aera.
